Reflecting the Past

As Friends of the Las Vegas Museum, we are committed to caring for and expanding the many resources of the museum. This includes exhibits, photos, research, and publications.

We provide funds and volunteer help for the following:

  • Creating new exhibits, such as the most recent display depicting clothing and fashions of early Las Vegas.

  • Scholarly research for books. We are currently sponsoring research for a book about the Chinese presence in 19th century Las Vegas.

  • Publishing and printing of new books. Our newly-released photo journal Las Vegas, New Mexico 1835-1935 (163 pages) has already been a huge success.

  • Caring for the Collection. We provide funds for archival materials and display cases. We help ensure the safety and proper care of all museum property.

These free entertaining and educational programs support the cultural heritage of Las Vegas, create channels for greater awareness of the museum, and encourage ongoing cultural growth in the community.

We welcome you to join us in sharing our colorful and exciting past and creating a present and future experience to match.

As a member of Friends of Las Vegas City Museum, you’ll receive a copy of our tri-annual newsletter, and updates about our activities.

We are a nonprofit* volunteer organization. When you support us, you can be sure every penny will be used for museum enhancement and for our outreach programs.
